It was a huge university and had a lot of awesome people. The professors, staff and faculty all seemed really nice. I enjoyed my electives a lot! The education and psychology departments are phenomenal. However, I recommend everyone stay away from the physics and chemistry department. A lot of the professors have a language barrier or teach above your head intentionally.

This three-year program allows students to launch their careers earlier than students attending a traditional four-year program. Additionally, during their last year, students participate in clinical rotations. This affords students an opportunity to develop a deeper knowledge of the specific needs and requirements of pharmacy practice. The School of Pharmacy program is delivered over 12 quarters of study that can be characterized by three distinct areas of focus.
The first provides the scientific foundation of the practice of pharmacy with coursework focusing on the basic, biological and pharmaceutical sciences with introductory clinical aspects. The second area of focus begins when student pharmacists are exposed to the profession in two Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences; one in a Community practice setting and a second in an Institutional Practice Setting.

Maybe it’s me being easily pleased, but there’s an incredible abundance of things to like about the college and also a great number of things to critique. No one is perfect and there’s always room for improvement.
Architecturally, the buildings are a mix of that classic collegiate aesthetic– hard brick and moss crawling up the sides of choice buildings– with modernity, like tall, multifunctional study areas paved with glass and lighter materials. Although some don’t like the really hard and heavy bricks, it makes everything incredibly sturdy which is a necessity in hurricane-ridden Florida.
Drainage systems are really good too so when the storms come rolling in, rain boots and a good umbrella will help you stomp through more flooded zones but high sidewalks and multiple paths make things a whole lot easier. University of Florida is also really big on consciousness efforts. Campus- and the surrounding area- is riddled with wildlife and nature.

Rapid improvements in photographic reproduction methods and more effective projection illuminants sparked the increased popularization of magic lantern slides.
In the United States, magic lantern shows were especially popular in formal education settings. The vast majority of these commercial lantern slides were black-and-white positive images, created with the wet collodion or a dry gelatine process.

Diaz may not be a trained chef or have a direct connection to a restaurant, but she has the voice to bring American-Puerto Rican cookery, as it exists today, into a broader consciousness. It is a story of discovery and self realization that uplifts through food—both the familiar and creative re-imaginings of it. The recipes aren’t strictly Puerto Rican and they aren’t strictly Southern—they’re Diaz’s own, based on her personal food history and her love of both cuisines.
What emerges through these recipes is something greater than the sum of [the book’s] two cooking cultures—the mainland South and the United States’ island South. Alongside the recipes, Diaz also shares stories from her family history, an often tumultuous one grounded by memories of food prepared by and for loved ones. A delicious read that will both touch you deeply and inspire you all the way to your kitchen.
